Wherever I go, I come back to it.

Music is the universal language.

It starts where the words end and is there before they even come to mind.

I imagine the universe emerged from sound waves and was danced into existence by elementary particles.

My memory works acoustically.

It is triggered by sound.

I believe music is for everyone, not for a few specialists who "know" how to listen or how to play.

Nearly everything I do musically springs from improvisation. Sometimes that's all I want. But even when I go further I try to save this spirit.

I love good songwriting, but I mostly try

to connect music to other forms of expression: poetry, art, dance, theater, film.
